Strength Poem by Rachel Loveday

Strength

A happy seed was planted
randomly it seems
unfavourable conditions in
the shade beneath huge leaves

The seed it was quite happy
in the sheltered pod it knew
but despite new, cold surroundings
to a tiny shrub it grew

This smallest shrub seems so lost
beneath the leafy giant
ever determined, it seeks the source
of which it is reliant

Its stubborn leaves refuse to fail
though the shade is so apparent
it twists and turns and stretches high
becoming equal with the giant

In life, we may want to feel
safe in a life we know
but despite unwelcome dirt and shade
we have the strength to grow

Just like the small and shaded plant
fighting for its space
we twist and turn to overcome
the dark times that we face

wow...what a fable a lesson in this mad and increasingly maddening world....! In life, we may want to feel safe in a life we know but despite unwelcome dirt and shade we have the strength to grow lovely :)
