Strike A Pose Poem by Tiff Murphy

Strike A Pose

strike a pose,
what can it hurt,
smile and hold the rose,
your not really a lost soul,
strike a pose,
pretend you’re a star,
it’s your own show,
that’s not really tears on your face,
strike a pose,
don't let anyone know,
those things you hide,
the person inside refusing to let go,
strike a pose,
there’s no more people to rewrite the words,
its your own song now,
adding its own new verse,
strike a pose,
you've never felt this high,
lighting your cig for the very last time,
letting it fall to the ground,
strike a pose,
the press's words spoke so unconcerned,
they never knew,
strike a pose would be your final verse.
