Struggles Poem by Carolyn Marie Taylor

Struggles

Rating: 5.0

It has been a year now since you went away,
There is not one day my thoughts don't go your way.
The up and downs of struggles within,
The loneliness of missing you.

You were ill for quite some time,
Decisions I made were not always mine.
I prayed for guidance and strength from above,
God was always at my side full of love.

I do feel comfort and peace,
Knowing you are with the Lord.
That doesn't satisfy my hunger,
Wishing you were coming through the door.

God has a plan and purpose,
Of which I do not know.
In the lonely hours and days he guides me,
In the struggle without you.

I send you prayers and love each day,
I know they are delivered.
I loved you in so many ways
I will carry you in my heart forever.

(In loving memory of my husband David 4-16-02)

One feels lonely in such moments but the reality is that one has to accept it and move on in life. The memories should be saved as treasures inside the bodily safe. Sometimes solitude can be your good friend too..........a very good poem with melancholic emotions........ May the soul of The deceased (Your Husband) rest in peace.......
