Stuck In The Past Poem by Hayden Walstrom

Stuck In The Past

The morning raindrops
bring a serene feeling
of cleanliness to my heart,
washing away my every burden,
with every falling drop.
The morning winds blow away
my feelings of shame and regret.
But neither will wash nor blow away,
those dear bittersweet memories,
I try to forget.
They chain me, holding me back,
keeping me from moving on.
I'm stuck in the past,
and realize those feelings of relief,
are only just temporary and my imagination.
