Stunning Rough Stone Poem by Andre Brown

Stunning Rough Stone

Rating: 5.0

He who from April dates his years,
Diamonds shall he offer, lest bitter tears,
To the child of October, born out of woe,
For better or worse, life's changes must know,
But lay an opal on her chest,
And hope will lull her woes to rest,
For vain repentance flows through this stunning rough stone,
It's emblem of innocence, is known.

Very touching poem, intense emotion is felt in these lines. Love how you use October's birthstone as an emblem of innocence, very lovely poem. I'm especially fond of October as it's my birth month, and have been given many opals through the years on birthdays. Thank you for this exquisite poem Andre, you do have a way of making your poems touch the heart and soul. RoseAnn
