Success, Wealth And Failure Poem by Francis Duggan

Success, Wealth And Failure

Success, wealth and failure anonymity and fame
One day it will not matter all will be the same
We are only born for to live and die
That's only a fact of life and facts do never lie
The greats of human history not so great today
All is dark and very quiet where their bones do lay
To all very old people we ought to drink a toast
They have got longevity that to them worth a boast
What goes to make a good person you are asking me
'Tis not fame or money though some with that would disagree
'Tis not the size of your home or your swimming pool or the size of your car
That does ever tell us of the person that you are
We are only mortals that and nothing more
And only a small percentage of us of years reach the four score.
