Such A Waste, To Write A Poem, Poem by david lessard

Such A Waste, To Write A Poem,

such a waste, to write a poem,
try and submit it, then see it vanish;
I only wish that there was a place,
where the one's in charge, we'd banish.
if it continues in this vein,
I must say my farewell;
and seek another spot for poetry,
so long, goodbye, it's been swell.
it's maddening, to say the least,
when what you write just disappears;
a blank replaces hard thought verse,
your faced with poet's fears.
fears that this one will not survive,
it's like the Bermuda triangle out there;
does anyone hear my outraged voice?
furthermore, do they really care?
I'm about to enter the verification code,
then click on the word...submit;
here I go my poet friends,
I hope these lyrics fit!

I went over to Poetfreak for a few days, but somehow I felt like a traitor. Still, I feel your pain Dave. Best, S.

Yes I hear your voice and feel your outrage when a well-thought poem disappears all of a sudden after you click submit here on PH. What I do to keep it from vanishing is to copy it first and then click backspace, then click the page submit new poem and paste it again. If I get logged out (which is almost often after several seconds) I post my username again and member code -then go to manage poems and click submit new poem and PASTE it again for the nth time until it says poem has been submitted (whew!) . It took a while before I got the hang of it and I've lost many poem before. Now I play safe and sometimes write my poems in my Drafts email - in my email account - before copy/paste here at PH. That way I keep a copy & the poem is not lost. Even posting comments on author's work results in getting logged out here (LOL!) Oh boy.
