Such Exquisite Loneliness Poem by Uriah Hamilton

Such Exquisite Loneliness

Sunlight in a dream,
Sparrows sing in solicitous trees.

A glass of beer,
A cordial café bar
On a college street,
The sweetness of her eyes.

Certain poets
Are meant to be sad
With suicidal thoughts,
I qualify but protest.

So much color
In the beautiful world,
The green grass
And the yellow dress,
The sapphire necklace
Leading to white shoulders.

I want to see everything
With a complimentary heart of prayer.

'Certain poets Are meant to be sad With suicidal thoughts, I qualify but protest.' Marvelous twist on the 4th line!
