Summer Poem by Annie Janine

Summer

The cool summer twilight
dawns upon my world

and the setting sun
twinkles in the distance

I inhale the sweet damp air
and my lungs are full of joy

a cold heavy due
wets my bare feet

I close my eyes
and savor the moment

I have nothing to think about
and nothing to fear

no worries or troubles
no school work or tests

I'm as free as a bird
flying high in the sky
