Summer
Come
Come again
The softness
Of the grass
Bending
Swaying
Seeded corn
Poppies burnt
Into my mind
The heat
Upon the road
White dust
White dust
And butterflies
Air heavy
Sweet and close
Larks
Sweetpeas
Gentle
Leafy trees
Soft pines
Against an evening sky
The end of a summers day
A countryside of pink
And grey
That tore my heart away
Summer
Come
Come again
My memory loves you
