Summer Night Poem by moon dust

Summer Night

Summer night, do you remember me
Shelter of your darkness would hide me
Secrets shared by none, thoughts hidden from the dawns
Summer night, do you remember me
I'd sit in my car, radio on, gazing out the window of my life
Reflection of my face and your stars, such a time
Your eve brought stillness
Parked by the bluffs edge I'd sing along, radio on
Summer night, do you miss me
Starting out as strangers I was afraid
But your black cloak provided cover for me
To collect my thoughts, to escape the boy of daylight
And find the man in the night
And your moon I shared with precious few
Over candle, over drink, over laughter and tears
Only a few saw us grow thru the years
O do you remmeber me summer night
You saw me wild and free
The girl who's really me
You knew I would never pretend to be the only one
Only you, only me, winter is such a long slumbering sleep
And I visit only in my dreams
Summer night, remember me
I'll return
To sit on the edge, radio on, singing the same songs
Another year, still among friends of water, moon, the stars
And my reflection, staring back at me
At you
Remember?
