Summer Storm Poem by K.N. Sheldon

Summer Storm

The world turns slowly,
Time comes to a stop,
The rain hangs in midair,
Not a single plop.
I lift my face towards the sky,
My heartbeat soothes my soul,
I feel a ray of sun hit me,
In the clouds there is a hole.
The clouds break up,
The sun floods the sky,
And we are free this time,
And our hearts and minds can fly.
We float up high through the clouds,
We take a look around,
We wish we could see everything,
But our eyes are fixed aground.
The weightlessness will carry us,
So very far away,
And as our minds leave us,
There is no night and day.
