Summertime Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

Summertime

Rating: 5.0

A golden shaft of light in the sky,
Fluffy, white clouds floating by,
Mighty oak trees offer shade,
Dammed creeks where boys wade,
Succulent vegetation and corn so tall,
Sound of the songbird's mating call.

Glorious flowers of a different hue,
Grass covered by a scintillating dew,
Vast fields of ripening produce and grain,
Beauty of a rainbow after the rain,
Cows grazing on the nearby hill,
A season when time seems to stand still.

The saga of Summer is in the breeze,
Frogs croaking, swarming bees,
The attributes of Summer will always loom,
Advocates will sing a welcoming tune,
The resurgent outcome is yours and mine,
All because it is a spectacular time.
