Sun Poem by Edgar John Jackson

Sun

It is impossible to hide
The children’s tears on their face (I know)
Where are the green trees of this place?
Where will you have to go
To keep faith at your side?

Where will flowers always grow?
Where will river have to go? (I know)
Rainbow is missing the sky
And birds don’t want to fly
And you can hear your soul cry.

You can face this pain (I will do it today)
You can dance in the rain (I’m gonna help you always stay)
You will be free to run (I’m gonna be my goal)
If people reach their goals to touch the sun…

Many children starve in our streets
Bear’s skin hung on our shoulder (I know)
We forget that a heart beats
Life can be harder
If we aren’t sure where we have to go…

Faces are full of sadness
People avoiding being old (I know)
Trying to find happiness
With lectures untold
Where will we have to go?

If we just swallow our pride
To keep love by our side
If we learn how to share
If we say, from our heart, a prayer…
