Sun Rays In Space Poem by Raekwon Jones

Sun Rays In Space

Rating: 5.0

I've seen a thousand faces.
Been in hundreds of races.
Been in countless places.

Yet i keep coming back to you.

All these things in one.
Your one of the few things I have won.
And though you weigh a ton,
Ill rocket us into the sun.

Burn away our faces,
In till were unrecognizable.
Tie us together like laces,
Make our love disguisable.

Do you see the galaxies?
Your Grander than them all.
Your infinity.
I'm just a digit,
On your number wall.

And now...

I feel like the soles of your feet.
And every time they kiss the ground,
I feel my heart lose a pound.
This cemented food is all i eat.

So please don't run!
Give me time to chew.
How i fell for you?
I was blinded by the sun!

The sun's a traitor.
An instigator.
No one asked for the ray's to intervene!
There was no time to take my sunscreen...

And as my skin peels away...
She sees the real me
She sees whats empty
'Don't let me melt away'

But this is more than what you bargained for...
So even in space!
You reach for the hatch.
Floating away; the palest face...
There was no air to spark our match.

Yet you exhale?
While i choke?
A secret she tells...
'You were just another joke.'
