Sunday Worship Poem by Glenda PalmerVibert

Sunday Worship

We don't go to church anymore
We worship in supermarkets.
Supermarket congregations are faithful
To the various denominations.
They worship at the shrine of
St Tesco or St Sainsbury or St Asda
Or the high church of St Waitrose or
The low church of St Aldi.
All prayers are answered, all things provided
To all men with no threats of damnation
No talk of transubstantiation only of taste sensation
'Don't save our souls just save our plastic -
2p off? - that's fantastic! '
