Sunkist Sky Poem by Terri Ann Stone

Sunkist Sky

Sun wakes up in beautiful colors;
reds and golds.
I roll over to see the hazy reflection
of your sleeping soul.
Shimmering colors to match
the sunkist sky.
You lay silent and peaceful
If you only knew why I
was watching you.
Dreaming of days to come.
You are just a child inside
Seeing your tortured soul
breaks my heart.
You will never know the depth
of my love dear, looking through your conflicted eye.
I only wish you touch the brilliant sky,
to change your tortured soul.
One day you will wake and smile
from deep within
but, until then I will smile for you.
