'Sunlit Morning' Poem by Joel Delpha

'Sunlit Morning'

A glorious day indeed
Which gives respite from the autumn chill.
Mercifully free of clothes,
I am bathed in the yellow sunlight
And wear only the gentle breeze.

The tulip tree beyond the way
Is baring herself for winter.
The yellow leaves let go
And pirouette in the air
Dancing ever downward.

Too soon, I will dress and start the day.
Too soon comes the winter,
Too long comes the spring.
But now,
Adorned in holy nudity,
I am at peace.
