Sunrise Poem by Claude H Oliver II

Sunrise

Tentative fingers of light emerge
Streaking and dissipating across the night canvas
Premonitions of glory soon to come
Slowly increasing intensity
Bestowing warmth and awakening
Lifting night's waning curtain
Painting with vibrant colors
Orange, red, violet, yellow, blue
Colors known yet brand new hues
Chameleon-like searching their own palette of tints
Awaking foraging armies of life
Moving through forests, grass, leaves and shrubs
‘Til her majesty shines forth
Eastern star of morning
Glory unequaled, light unparalleled, radiance unlimited

Repeated for millennia, yet never the same
Moments never to return
Ever promising tomorrow's return

Ah, reminder of life - yesterdays, today and days to come
