Sunrise Poem by Juan Olivarez

Sunrise

Sunrise o'er the horizon shines,
Gladdening this heart of mine.
Yellow and orange life giving rays,
Welcome another wonderful day.

Birds are singing e'er so sweet,
On the trees lining the street.
Morning clouds are floating by,
E'er gently in the morning sky.

A southern breeze to cool the land,
Carreses me like a giant fan.
I feel so good just where I stand,
With my coffee in my hand.
