Sunset And Sunrise Poem by Melissa ThorntonGrubb

Sunset And Sunrise

The color of the sky is blue
this is due to the earths atmosphere
that breaks up and scatters the suns light
into the blue and violet wavelengths of which we see.

sometimes during sunset and sunrise
the sky turns pink, orange, and red
because the sun light scatters farther apart
and allows for the longer wavelengths to reach your eyes.

you are my sunset and sunrise
you allow for my beauty to reach your eyes
instead of just seeing the flaws I posses
you allow your vision to look farther,
to look past it and through it.

no you don't ignore my flaws
but you let it scatter just enough to let my beauty
actually be something in someones vision.

each of the suns light has its own wavelengths
and each part of me has its own weaknesses and strengths
and you see much more than the scattered peices of me
you see all the colors in my personal spectrum
