Suppose Poem by Edwina Reizer

Suppose

Suppose I walked a different path
and found no happiness there.
Would I have the courage of my convictions
to search, walk and bear
all the hardships that there are
when you finally found the one
that makes your countenance so content
that you'll never want to run?

Suppose you walked a different path
and was never able to fly
into the arms of happiness?
Would you let your heart just die
a little more day by day?
Or step over the stumbling blocks
and finally be able to say
I know I can fly away.
