Sure Love Poem by Vallerie Lobell

Sure Love

Rating: 3.8

Why must your love be bittersweet?
Warm and wonderful as May,
Then cool and indifferent,
Changing day to day,

My love for you is not like this,
But steadfast and secure,
Not neglected or pushed aside,
As time passes it matures,

So think it over, there's much at stake,
I will not be brought down,
Can't wait forever for surer love,
Need your constancy right now,

I love this...... need your constancy...... is it not the inconstant which makes us yearn more..... and then when we want constancy and get it.... do we still want it? It's a quandary! I do like your style here though - Humber Girl x

Vallerie, great poem, ... and somewhat 'bittersweet.' Beautifully written with overtones of sadness. Well done! ! Brian
