Surrender Poem by Fiona Davidson

Surrender

One more look over my shoulder
One more thought of things I love
One more step into the distance
One more deep breath and off I go

Hidden deep within me
I hold my heart so tightly
To keep the pieces together
As it shatters once again

One more smile to linger on
One more touch of gentle hand
One more time I close my eyes
One more time I hold the tears inside

In the future I will be more wary
Of loves sweet seducing tunes
Block my mind from surrender
That leaves us all so vulnerable

Such a painful rise out of hurt and expressed here with dignified eloquence... the titile chosen is very apt too..... love from Fay.
