Survival Poem by Kavya S Babu

Survival

I had the most beautiful voice
I had the best soothing words
I am taught with good thoughts
I am gifted with all I wanted
But why when the world around
just trembled, I lost everything?

The flowers in my garden
no more have any fragrance
nor the stars up the sky
twinkle and gaze at me
Nothing else to share with me
the dripping rain pretends.

My premises are empty now
In a void, am left alone
The nearest are the farthest now
for they run faster than me.
I still leap behind
unable to make a move.

But I have dreams and hopes
for a better tomorrow, a bright life
they are my treasures, awaiting me
with bouquets of bliss and holy candles.
Life teach me lessons,
they are my strength and support.

Let the flowers along my way bloom
diffusing its fragrance everywhere.
Let the guides up the sky
illuminate my path and send a lovely blink.
Let the rain fall all the night
for its words for me are endless.

My strides will surely go past time;
the fastest runner of all times
May the Goddess herself mould me
with her muddy wet hands
and set me into the fittest
so that I can survive and let others to.
