Swallow Poem by Padraic Colum

Swallow

Rating: 2.6

HE knows Queen Lab, her isle,
And black, enormous Kaf,
The Swallow, and 'Allah'
He cries

As into Giaour lands
With Dervish faith and rite,
Hueless, a Saracen,
He flies.

Like scimitars his wings,
And, all unluminous,
Black, like a genie's thought,
His eyes.
