Swan Princess. Poem by Gary Hembree

Swan Princess.

Rating: 5.0

In the mirror reflects a story.
Of a woman whom's dream was to dance.
She would glide across the stage, as if she was a bird in the sky.
On her toe's she would stand, as she spun like a top.
Her forum perfect like a diamond.
Her balance flawless like a cat.
Oh how she could dance the night away.
Yet her dreams would fade.
She began to fall ill.
Her lovely hair fell like leafs from a dying tree.
Her once strong legs that could balance like a cat.
Could no longer find the will to make her stand.
She now only lay's awake in pain.
As the sickness eats her dreams away.
Her mother and father beg and cry.
They can't understand how this could happen.
As they watch their daughter be taken.
A smile do they see upon her face.
And as they lean in close.
She whispers with her last breath.
'Look mom and dad, I'm finally a beautiful swan princess.'
