Sweet Dreams Poem by Obed dela Cruz

Sweet Dreams

Sweet dreams of the night, so dear as they lie awake
Wrapped with a mother’s kiss and father’s guiding voice.
A hope and life in the edge of darkness they make
With a silent yet resounding of pleasant noise.

On soft comfort, while gazing the stars of heaven,
They come as precious gifts, secured nothing is wrong.
Music brings me to imagination’s haven
Where worries vanish when played the angelic song.

Locked are all the rooms from innocent fantasies,
For these sweet dreams in good life and health have brought me.
Betrothed to Love which even when time comes to cease,
Would remain faithful after an eternity.

Sweet dreams, sweet dreams, they are bestowed upon my soul
Making inspiration grow deeper than before
With greater light than ember’s glow on firewood’s coal,
Like the restoration of a shaken armor.

Sweet dreams, sweet dreams, in life they really do come true
With the Best Friend’s embrace that caresses me through.
