Sweet Robin

Amidst the changing seasons,
Beneath the chestnut tree,
Is where I met sweet Robin,
He's waiting there for me,
I lie here in the sunshine,
This place I love to rest,
For he's right there beside me,
Such red upon his chest.
Oh Robin, sweet Robin,
Why don't you stay?
Oh Robin, sweet Robin,
Don't fly away!

poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Young Love lies sleeping
In May-time of the year,
Among the lilies,
Lapped in the tender light:
White lambs come grazing,
White doves come building there:
