Tainted Sacrifice Poem by Javier Zamorano

Tainted Sacrifice

TAINTED SACRIFICE
Bleeding in a heartfelt way
Yesterday’s dead disgrace I am tempted to stay
To stay and believe alone, unheard unwilling to
Die like Jesus mocked like Jesus because I have the same love
But a different song, loud and sometimes unappreciative
Why must you convince me how to live?
It is the rich and faithful standing alone, cold
Outside a feeding door
Begging to be fed
And their needs never being met
Bleeding in a way that instills suffering
Unyielding to another countrys borders
It is a falsehood to sacrifice when one stands tall and smiles
The god you know to love
The god you sleep to hate
Is the author and witness to
The sins you and I sleep in
And we love to be proud for every empty moment is
When our lives are the dream we are unwilling to awake from
And in this dream as we bleed our voices I know
I trust
I believe
To awake
