Take A Moment To Think

Take a minute to think
where we are and where we're going.
and think what we've done and where we've been.

Take a minute to think
about all the good times we've shared,
the laughs, the tears, don't they mean anything?

Take a minute to think
about the words we used to whisper,
what they meant and where they were said.

Take a minute to think
about our past desires and passions,
and the places where we chose to make our bed.

Take a minute to think
what might lie ahead for you,
living with a stranger that you don't really know.

Take a minute to think
if I'm no longer there for you,
well, if you've done thinking, I guess you had better go.

Poem of the Day

poet Katharine Lee Bates

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
