Take Me Deeper Poem by Benjamin Paa Willie

Take Me Deeper

Rating: 5.0

Lost in the gloomy abyss, I wandered
Dirtied like a dog to its vomit, I returned
And watched while my iniquities pierced thy side
As thou carried my cross pass many a roman guide

I cry to thee my Lord, I will not thee go
Your likeness, to persecute, once my goal
To tear apart thy church, I kept pact with the foe
Yet en route Damascus, thou did save my soul

I cry to thee my Lord, to take me deeper
And my eyes open again, even wider
In a newer tongue of praise, I proclaim thy power
For my spirit free you set, so take me deeper

I will not let thee go,
Until thy fathomless nature, I know
For my spirit free thou set
Willful servant to thy eternal call, yet

I cannot let thee, my eternal love, go
Until thou, my savior, enshrine thy love in me
Let me, in thy communion and spirit, be
I hold unto thee, my bride, until thy nature I know
