Take Off Poem by Susan Lacovara

Take Off

Had I only realized, then,
The airplane you boarded
Which sent you soaring
Away from me
Just so happens to be
A routine flight
For American Airlines
And wouldn't you know it
Lucky me....
I live only minutes
From the airport
And have the daily reminder
Overhead
Overwhelmingly loud
Of the 'On Time' schedule
Of your departure
