Taken Back Poem by Marla Smith

Taken Back

I see this pool around me ~~ It keeps growing bigger and bigger by the minute ~~ Knowing ~~ Wishing ~~ Hoping ~~ That you or someone will care ~~ I’m here in this corner slumped into it ~~ With a pool of red around me ~~ I look ahead into the darkness ~~ Seeing a light coming to me as a door opens ~~ The person I love the most walks towards me ~~ Takes me back into his arms ~~ I watch as the cuts on my arm turn to scars ~~ The pool if blood somehow all disappears ~~You telling me that your never going to leave me again ~~ I realize how in love I am with you ~~ Soon I find myself at a dance ~~ Dancing in your arms ~~ Falling in love with you again ~~ Knowing that you won’t leave me ever again ~~ Knowing that I am loved by someone ~~ And I always will be ~~ I will stand by your side ~~ Because I love you ~~ That will never change ~~ When you found me I was lying on the floor ~~ Wishing that all this pain and hurt ~~ In my heart ~~ Would all go away ~~ I love you and always will.
