Taken By Surprise Poem by Mariah Clary

Taken By Surprise

Rating: 5.0

I hear the gentle rain,
Flowing down the drain,
It's spatters all over town,
They drip down the walls,
I feel it trickle on my lips,
Rain appears to be tears from the Heavens,
It soaks my hair,
A shock of lightning catches my eye,
The city turned bright,
Then the lights shut off,
It seems the power went away,
Everyone waited for hours,
Until we saw a flash at the tower
We dashed back home,
To relax and dry off,
When the sun came up,
I said goodbye to the rain,
Mother nature is unpredictable,
She took us by surprise,
And we're waiting for another rainy day to arise.
