Taken For A Ride Poem by Velvet Thorn

Taken For A Ride

I'm weary of this
Roller coaster game
Engineered by you
Cooperatively constructed

At first exciting
Exhilarating, heart pounding
Now heavy, despairing
Long, slow decrescendo

Through feelings of love
And admiration for your skill
I catch glimpses
Of anger fleeting
A tiger through the trees
Melting away
Leaving me
An empty forest
