Taken Unexpectedly Poem by John Sensele

Taken Unexpectedly

Homeward bound lass walked
When lurking shadows on her they pounced,
Demanded favours she denied them
But, instead, trounced
Their ugly plan
That from her soul bounced.

Hot anger floated in the dark alley
And questioned why
Lass them could so defy
To extent of making them sigh
In frustration and despair
Although ugly trade long time shadows ply.

Mad blood to shadows' heads rushed,
Caused them to strangle lass
Who appealed to common sense
That never went to mass
A single time, only preferring
Her body on the alley floor to embarrass.
