tanhai dasti hai bas mujse kehti hai
hu mai sabse juda
tera hi faisla hai khuda
tanhai tanhai hai ye kaisi tanhai
dard jo na hota hai mujse bayan
dard hai ya zeher tu mujko bata
aay khuda aay khuda
kuch toh bata aay khuda
tanhai tanhai hai ye kaisi tanhai
khushiya hai mujse ruthi
lagne lagi ye duniya jhuthi
muskurahat dur kar hotho se
aakho mai aansu hai lai
tanhai tanhai hai ye kaisi tanhai
sajna way na muh mod tu mujse
bhulna nai hai itna aasan
bas ab toh yehi kehna hai khudse
dukho ki ye parchai jo jiwan mai chai
dur hogi kab aakhir ye meri tanhai
bas kehna hai ab apne aap se
har bar tutte hai mere sapne jaise tute shishe
log ho jate hai do pal mai juda
par tanhai kab dur hogi bata aay khuda
tanhai tanhai hai ye kaisi tanhai
tanhai tanhai hai ye kaisi tanhai

poet Ambrose Bierce

by Ambrose Bierce

Once I dipt into the future far as human eye could see,
And I saw the Chief Forecaster, dead as any one can be--
Dead and damned and shut in Hades as a liar from his birth,
