Tearful Memory Poem by AHO Speaks

June the 6th and 'D' day they all said
The meaning of the letter; was it a symbol for our dead?
They gave their children, sons and daughter
Truly the nightmare of a nation to slaughter.

We now give them who in silence sleep
Our love and memories that make us weep.

God gives the gift of child to hold and to care
Not a gift to take away its life and no longer to share.

There was no victor in any war of the historical past
For their reason and purpose never did last.
