Tears Poem by Laura Rodriguez

Tears

Tears come strolling down my face.
I can no longer contain them.
My heart is bleeding,
my wrists are bleeding
as I’m slowly dying.
What happened?
I was never like this.
I used to smile
but now I can only frown.
People tell me I’m different.
Can they see my tears?
Can they see the blood on my wrists?
Can they even see me cry?
Solitude still with me is only you.
Everyone leaves me stranded,
forgotten, abandoned, left behind.
Tears come strolling down my face.
I can no longer contain them.
My heart is bleeding,
my wrists are bleeding
and I’m slowly dying.
My heart has stopped crying
…finally.
