Tears Of Love Poem by Ariel Smith

Tears Of Love

he stands there
the gun at his head
the rope around his neck
the men around him
geering
hating
wanting him to die
he can choose the gun;
a quick death
or the rope;
that will give him more time
because they are out there in the crowd of men
who are geering
and hating
and wanting him to die
his little girl
and his wife
tears stream down their faces
and he sees the love in their eyes
and he loves them back
with all of his heart
so he chooses the gun
and he shouts to them
'My love will flow through the very air
My heart may stop
But my love never will'
and then they knew
that he wouldnt leave them
ever
he would always be there
and as the shot pierced his skull
the crowd of men
who were geering
and hating
and wanting him to die
stopped
and saw his little girl
and his wife
the tears streaming down their faces
and they paused to feel the love flowing through the air
and they paused to look at the man
whos heart was no longer beating
and they knew that his love would never stop

and neither would the love of the little girl
or the man's wife
with the tears running down their faces
