Tell Me Poem by Daniel Murphy

Tell Me

What’s the use in fighting?
And tearing out our hair?

When there’s so much violence in the world,
Too many things to bear.

Just sit and stay a while with me,
And you’ll see I’m much like you.

That I do laugh and smile and want,
And cry and feel pain too.

But you see we’re only human,
And can do and say things wrong.

It starts to get real stupid,
When the hating lasts too long.

So if you see me thinking,
And sitting on my own.

Come and sit beside me,
And I’ll read you out this poem.
