Tell Me Lies Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Tell Me Lies

I'm not putting myself through it again
So much of my time, you have maxed out
I ain't got much on my mind
but this one thing

What you're going to order?
Something on the menu leave you content
I'm the sheep you've slaughtered
But all along that was your intent
want me to feel the horror
cause you like when hearts are in torment

you do nothing but tell me lies
even after all your mistakes
still love was found in these eyes

I will survive this yet again
My Heart won't die, this pain will end
and maybe it'll be sometime tonight
You'll be hurting out of spite

Someone who loves me is all I need
through the storm of adversity
I want a love to complete my soul
Someone who shows me with actions
and it doesn't lead me to question
what my position is
I'm the one they have eyes for
