Tell Me Why? Poem by Kiara Bailey

Tell Me Why?

Rating: 4.3

To hate is to fill your body with poison
So what is it called when you hate yourself?
Is it still poison in your soul?
Or is it a mix of pain and defeat?
What do you call it when you can't stand to look at yourself?
What do you call it when you'd rather be gone than alive?
They say love is a marvelous thing, so what is it called when your heart is all shriveled up?
Tell me why black is all I see in my eyes?
Tell me why the letters are across my waist?
Tell me why sorrow is all i feel?
Tell me why black tears are all I cry?
If I'm supposed to feel love and be happy tell me why is it that inside all there is id hate?
Tell me why my soul is full of poison, my heart full of despair and my eyes full or venom?
Tell me why

Surely, I see depression rearing its ugly head, bringing forth a state of hopelessness, depriving one of good reasons to cheer up and be happy. FAITH KEEPS THOSE THAT KEEP THE FAITH - Mother Teresa. I like the articulation of the poem. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.

Thanks for putting across the main theme in a thoughtful manner. There is so much oppression, pain and despair in the world that the love becomes a casualty. Great poem.
