Telling Tales Poem by Daniel Norton Smith

Telling Tales

When Frances Farmer
was young and poor,
on Mum's advice she
put great store.

When she mingled
with the thin and rich,
they left her body
in the ditch.

So young ladies,
take my advice,
live like cats
and thrive on mice.
