Tempt Me No Further Young Damsel Poem by Ojedokun Olajide

Tempt Me No Further Young Damsel

Tempt me no further young damsel
Body they say is no wood
Neither is sex to me food
And abstinence they say is very good

Tempt me no further young damsel
Why for heaven's sake do you hail me in warm reception?
Oh, how I see it in you that great deception
Common in ladies with excellent dentition

Tempt me no further young damsel
Not all that glitters they say is gold
And your endowed body if wrongly used could fold
Itself like that of a woman so old

Tempt me no further young damsel
Treat me not like that wretched neighbour
Who has nothing to show for his labour
But comes home drenched in stupor

Tempt me no further young damsel
HIV/AIDS I tell you is real
And only the infected could tell you how they feel
When the outcome of their test they see

Tempt me no further young damsel
Calm I might be but I'm nobody's fool
Miss pretty you might be but please do not abuse your tool
Though you're good at the game, remember, no one is best at pool

Tempt me no further young damsel
Think I have a word of advice for you
Why don't you for dignity, integrity and fidelity too
Get an honest and well-deserved job to do

Tempt me no further young damsel
Learn from your mama and be wise
No reasonable fellow marries a girl that sells her honour for a price
A word they say is enough for the wise.
