Temptation Poem by Michele Weston

It swirls all around me
Growing stronger everyday
I know not how much longer
I'll have the stregnth to push away
It seems the harder I resist
The more it wants to have its way.

I try to avoid this desire
That swells within my soul
The ony thing that stops me
Is the action holds a grave toll
So hard to stay true when
All my strings the desire doth pull.

Like a burning hot fire
Whose flames can not be quenched
In all of these thoughts
My soul is completely indrenched
I only pray that someday soon
These desires can all be trenched.

It is so hard to stay true
Even though I call you mine
If only I could feel your touch
Upon my skin but one more time
That would make it so much easier
And help me to walk the line.

Temptation is so hard to resist
When we're so far apart
The only thing that holds us together
Is the feelings we hold in our hearts
I just hope that I don't succumb
Before our eternity can even start.
