Temptation Poem by Fiona Kennedy

Temptation

Temptation's dragging me down.
I try to pull away.
I cannot let this happen.
I really cannot stay.

But I want hear those words,
Praying to have them said in my ear.
He leans a little closer,
But I wake up and he disappears.

I cannot let this happen.
I really cannot stay.
Temptation's holding me down.
And I just can't pull away.

He whispers in my ear,
And I think I'm going to die.
He leans in even closer,
But I wake up and start to cry.

I've tried to pull away,
But temptation's dragging me down.
I really want to stay and let it happen,
But in reality he looks at me with a frown.

He whispers in my ear,
And I think I'm going to die.
He walks away and leaves me there.
I'm awake and it was all a lie.
