Tempting Evil Poem by Srishti chaplot

Tempting Evil

Happiness comes wrapped in gloom,
Goodness comes wrapped in evil,
Buds into flowers surely bloom,
But why is it snatched by the devil?
Who solely enjoys its beauty,
While he does wrong duty?

I wondered why it happened,
that good should be attracted to evil,
Then thought it was the evil's beauty that tempted,
the flower to go into wrong hands of devil.
While the devil's ugly heart remained hidden,
Beneath its beauty like a riddle.

The disguised beauty that gave ecstasy,
Became the reason of its gloom.
Though it seemed like victory,
It was fake and reason of its doom.
So the fresh flower withered,
Insurmountable pain it suffered.

But it learned a great lesson,
To not to be attracted to temporary beauty,
And its pain gradually lessened,
And it started doing its own duty...
Soon it found a person who loved and cared,
and the water and sunlight the person shared.

It grew in absolute bliss,
And its beauty increased manifold,
Its strength grew without hiss,
And it began to be behold,
All it said was 'let not the looks tempt you,
For what seems real may be unreal clue...'
