Johnny Monroe

Thank You - Poem by Johnny Monroe

For breaking me down,
for cutting me open,
for digging in the knife
as you whispered in your goddess smooth voice
'I love you.',

for helping me know firsthand how heartbreak can kill,
for helping me to truly give up on humanity
and love
and god
and peace
and joy.

For tearing me to shreds
and piecing me back together,
for killing me
for reviving me
and leaving me alone,

Covered in scars
